A FUSED GLASS SOUL GEM BY TAMMY HUDGEON, created in her Wild Spirit Studio on Gabriola Island! The intent with this piece is to show case Tammy’s lovely little soul gem.

I have created a beaded free-form peyote frame in translucent bright green matte to match the smudge of colour infused in the glass of Tammy’s soul gem. This one-of-a-kind pendant is suspended on a twisted textured kumihimo braid of translucent white matte glass beads on bright green Egyptian cotton thread. The colour of the thread glows through the beads giving the braid a muted green tone. The closure has matching bright green beaded tips with a Millefiori bead.

I love to design pieces that are beautiful, organic and comfortable to wear – to create durable, wearable art. I want you to love wearing this piece ANYWHERE. This little sweet heart is very organic; just glass and cotton! I pay careful attention to functional wear-and-tear. For this piece I have used an 8 warp kumihimo braid, an ancient technique that is strong and durable. The beads are strung directly onto the warps and worked into position during the braiding process.
